Why India is Very Poor Country ? Top five reasons
India is indeed a very poor country. Current DGP of India is less than some very small countries like Germany, France, Japan etc. In terms of Per capita GDP, India’s rank is around 130. i.e 129 countries are having better GDP per capita in comparison to India.
The main causes of Poverty in India are
1. Lack of education- Many people are still illiterate, almost 30%. You can not expect that illiterate people can do any substantial activities without education.
2. Language- Language is big hurdle, There are more than 30 languages in India. Unless any people know proper English, they can’t do much, they get difficulties in finding job or doing business. English is not mother language for almost all Indian.
3. Lack of infrastructure- The very poor condition of basic infrastructure like road, electricity, irrigation, school are among the reasons for low GDP. People can not do anything with this poor infrastructure.
4. Poor Government System – Government is not much efficient. They are doing very less work. Poor management, poor law and order situation and corruption are stopping all development work.
5. Dependency on Agriculture- Almost 40% Indian population are involved in agriculture which is much more than required for same agriculture output. The output from agriculture can not increase GDP to substantial level. People need to shift towards service sector or industrial sector.
All these problems will not going to be solved easily. So in near future, India will remain poor country. Poverty in India will remain for atleast 30 year from now.

Problems will not be solved by themselves, most of them are like you who just want to say the reasons but dont want to find the solution. And for ur kind information govt is finding things to improve but need responsible citizens who can make it possible to develop India.
India is not a poor country and far from being a ‘very poor’ country. It has the top 10 economy economy in the world and nuclear weapons. A very poor country does not launch satellites into outer space
Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam is saying that India will become a “Vallarasu” coutry in another 20 years, but you are saying that India will remain as a “Poor” country for the next 30 years. How pathetic…
India is not a poor country. in India there are slums, dirty surroundings, pollution, illiteracy, corruption, red tapism which makes the situation worst in India. the pathetic scene of India is not attributed to the lack of finance but more of one’s poor mental attitude, narrow mindedness, lack of civic sense or minding one’s own business, selfishness, greediness etc. money doesn’t make man, man make money. if the situation in India is pathetic it is because we do not make effort to change ourself but always talk of changing the world. the solution to the problem of India is within every single individual and not outside material world. i personally feel that we have still not been able to completely eradicate barbarism from within ourself. we travel in Mercedes but continue to blow horn in hospital and school area. we misappropriate government funds but we also refuse to serve public sincerely. we dont keep our words, promises even after our purpose have been served by second party. we show our patriotism in the field of criket match with decorated face but in the service of nation, our personal interest is placed in prority.
we need to change ourself with the help of reformed religion and philosophy. we need to cultivate understanding, love, care, selflessness, sincerity, hardwork.
“India is poor”. India was ruled by British, the system was developed by them, We have not develop the system according our culture, needs etc. most effective laws are before 1947. You mention 4 points:
1. Lack of education-”In India most educated people are dumb” I should say teaching shaff should be proper ( Dynamic, Creative, Imaginative), should stop %, grading system should be PASS or FAILED.
2. Language-”This should not be a barrier i.e., Most developed country have their own language(Germany, Japan etc), This language only for slave. Unfortunately in India it’s a pride. Why language required in human neural system.
3. Lack of infrastructure- In India most of the projects are over cost, i.e CWG (10,000 crore) why, manpower are overpaid( Have you analyzed why your salary is that much I mean Food Expenses=5%, Living House Rent=20%, Medical=??, Insurance:=??, Travel=??, Education=??, Future saving=??) Its totally uncontrolled and Illogical controlled by Middle man( Realstate, School dallal(why govt school have under standard, )
4. Poor Government System – No one know the definition of “SYSTEM” , Pure def. is Interdependent elements,module, part etc interact with “low coupling and high cohesion”.
low coupling and high cohesion should understand every one. In our schooling the Law subject should compulsory
5. Dependency on Agriculture- “It should not be service sector” then future is bright, It should be: Research and Design, Product Design, Production, Agriculture , Infrastructure, Little in service scetor.
