Tips for 2008 passout Freshers waiting for a job
This one is for the 2008 pass out freshers who are waiting for those elusive call letters. This is definitely a difficult and trying phase, as I am going through it myself, I assure you that I know only too well how it feels. I must confess, I reached peaks of frustration a few weeks back. But then, isn’t living all about trying to make the best out of what life dishes out to you? So here are a few things that you could try to make things better, and make this period one of the most productive in your life.
1. Join some class. No, not the Java J2EE classes, by now you should very well be capable of learning that out of the books. I mean learn something you have always wanted to, but never had the time to. Dance, vocal music, instrumental, languages, the options are endless and the choice is yours.
2. Is there some untapped talent in you? Or some field you originally wanted to explore but couldn’t as you were forced into professional education? Say theatre? Writing? Teaching (for school kids)? Go ahead and explore and earn yourself a little pocket money in the way.
3. This is one is more for gals. Why not learn some saree designing or jewelry designing? The satisfaction of designing your own stuff cant be paralleled.
4. Tech-savvy? There are quite a few freelance projects available for you to try. By undercutting the prices, you can gain some experience (or reviews) on the site and go on to make much more profit.
5. Time for self and family. This is just as important as everything else. Remember that once the corporate life catches hold of you, you are never going to find time like this. So, instead of gripping and moaning now saying you have nothing to do, and moaning later on that you have no time for self, make best of both the times.
