Podcasting on Blogger or WordPress blog without making RSS or XML File Manually
If you are already blogging on blogger or WordPress blog, you can also podcast from your same blog. What you need to do is to upload your mp3 file to somewhere and link it from from your blog. If you don’t have any webhost to upload your mp3 file (if you are using blogger.com or wordpress.com for blogging), you can use yahoo geocities to upload your mp3 file. After uploading your mp3 file get URL of that file. something like http://geocities.com/yorname/abc.mp3. make a new post in your blog. link your mp3 file anywhere Just like i am linkind one mp3 file here.
IF you are blogging on blogger ot wordpress platform, you have already inbuilt RSS file something like http://adwords.blogspot.com/atom.xml for this blog .You can also use FeedBurner to get your RSS file by just putting your blog address there. The RSS feed address of this bog is here. The most important point is that you should place your feed link in your blog at front so that people should know the feed address and can use it.
Now suppose your friend want to listen your podcast (i.e. your mp3 file), he has to put your RSS file link in the address bar in a software like itune. After putting your blog’s RSS link, this software will detect any mp3 file link in your recent posts. After finding link in your post it will automatically start downloading your mp3 file in itune.
When your friend will return after some time he will have your mp3 file stored in his itune.
Now he can get this mp3 file on his ipod by synchronizing it to itune and he is ready to listen your mp3 file when he is on move.
Can your friend listen your mp3 file directly on his PC – Yes, by browsing your blog, when he will click on mp3 file link, he can directly listen your podcast immediately
So what is the advantage of using podcasting?- If your friend is not using itune, he will need to visit your blog always to search for a new mp3 file. By using itune, he need not visit to listen your show, because your podcast will be available at is itune.
itune software at regular interval will crawl to your website, if any new post with mp3 file link it will found, it will start downloading .
This is something like this – suppose you like a particular TV show, but you can’t able to watch on time, you can use itune software to watch it (if this TV show is available on website). You need to give information to itune the RSS file address. After giving RSS address, itune will automatically download the show whenever it will be available, so in this way you can watch it at your time.
PODCASTING IS APPLICABLE TO AUDIO,VIDEO and PDF files in same manner
