There are many people in India who are using wrong format of OBC certificate for gov jobs, because of using wrong format they are unable to use the advantage of reservation for OBC.
There are many level on which you can make OBC certificate. here it is.
1. You can make OBC certificate at your block level, this OBC certificate is issued on the behalf of State Government. Mostly this type of OBC certificate is only applicable for gov jobs of state level. Many central Gov Job will not accept it for reservation consideration.
2. You can get OBC certificate at District level which is normally issued by Distinct magistrate or SDO. This type of OBC certificate is mostly acceptable at all type of gov jobs, most of the state gov jobs as well as central Gov jobs.
In the second type of OBC certificate, to make it most valid you should check the following line should be included in the certificate-
1. “FOR POST UNDER THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA”
2. “Column 3 of the Schedule to the Government of India, Department of Personnel & Training O.M. No. 36012/22/93-Estt.(SCT) dated 08/09/93”
If above two content is visible anywhere in the OBC certificate, then the OBC certificate is most appropriate for any gov post in India.
The only thing you shoud give consideration is that the issue date of certificate should come within the required date for the job vacancy.
If you are not able to find the above two content anywhere in the OBC certificate, check whether it is issued for Central Gov Job under Government of India or it is issued for the jobs under state Government only.
