If you want to make your folder to password protected freely without using any software, here is a trick you can use it to protect your folder or file from opening or viewing from others. Just Zip your folder or file with password protection.

If your folder or file is zipped with password protection, no body can open your files without password. Here is a step by step procedure to make your folder or file password protected using Winzip.

1. Make a blank zip file.

2. drag your folder to empty zip file.

3. When zip file start, click on Agree

4. Before clicking on Add button, click password button at corner

5. Give password and click on Add.

6. So in this way your folder is now password protected inside zip.

This folder is password protected even if it is transfered on CD or email.

Put all your other files in same zip folder with same password, If you keep same password for all files in Zip, you can extract all at one time by giving password single time.

When you need to open the folder, extract the file with your password. If you want to hide all files inside zip, you just put zip folder to another new zip folder with same password.

So this is the most easy and reliable way to make folder secure and password protected.
