Is Sound Device not working after installing windows XP in your PC
If your computer system is getting this problem after installing windows XP or updating to SP 2, you can rectify this problem easily by installing sound drive from the CD of Motherboard.
If you don’t have motherboard CD of your computer, you need to do following-
1. Check your motherboard and get the model number of your motherboard. This is very important to get model number of your motherboard because it may vary from model to model of a single motherboard company.
2. If you are not able to get your model number physically on your motherboard, just restart your computer, there will be a chance that at very first screen of starting a computer will have model number of your motherboard. Note it down.
3. After getting motherboard number, go to your motherboard’s website. search for your model number, there will be a chance that you will get sound drive to download there.
4. Download the correct sound drive, install it on your PC and restart your PC.
5. Your PC sound system will work fine.
If you are still getting sound problem, go to Start > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio devices and uncheck mute option. It shoud work fine.
If you have Windows Vista system and you are getting the same problem, just do same as above.
