iControl IPTV by MTNL in Delhi and Mumbai: Cost and Features
IPTV facility is now available in India by icontrol service provided by Aksh in association with MTNL. You can watch any TV program at any time you want. icontrol offers 120 channels, 200 movies on demand with rewind, fast forward and pause option. icontrol requires NO COMPUTER, NO INTERNET, NO BROADBAND, NO DVD PLAYER.
Icontrol will let you do interactive gaming, messaging on television which are not available on cable and DTH. There is a misconception that for viewing IPTV, broadband and PC is necessary. You need not have any computers, special hardware or technical knowledge. you only need TV and set top box for IPTV.
How it works- It require cable same as you require broadband cable for internet. If you are using MTNL broadband service, you can subcribe icontrol IPTV service for your TV, you will get set top box, and rest is same as Satellite TV.
Cost:- monthly subscription fee- Rs. 199/- only. (Rs. 50 for MTNL for and Rs. 149 to Aksh optifibre).

Can i skip (fast forward) advertisments?
Any one knows about the quality of signal? (as compared dth)…
For TV program, this fast forwarding facility may exist (i have to confirm it), but for movie it is sure.

IPTV is available in all areas of Delhi . However the subscriber should be within 3 kms from the Exchange.
Subject to technical feasibility, IPTV is being offered only to the broadband subscribers of MTNL Delhi at present. For those opting for IPTV, broadband speed (both download & upload) will be restricted to 256Kbps only.

its not possible to give FFW, Rewind, Pause function for the broadcasted programs i.e your regular tv channels. you can use these functions for video on demand only. so you cannot skip the regular commercial.

Yesterday in newspaper “navbharat times”the monthly rental was 100 but now when viewed ur site it increased to 199 why is it so.
This is a very bad service as I can hope.bcoz I ordered for this service but both the times order was cancelled .

I’m in love with MTNL.
First they get us broadband (2 mbps) and now this new technology.
They have so many great videos uploaded (old and new) that you won’t get bored even for a minute.
The channels are great , though initially it takes upto 20-30 seconds for IControl/IPTV to start (or boot up) ,after that it works great.

We have icontrol Tv at our home from last 6 months, but from last 15 days our icontrol TV is not seen , there are “initializing fail” like this massage are coming.

We are disappointed with the service of IPTV icontrol and aksh we have discontinued both the services. If we discontinue the service of Aksh iptv they refund us the deposit but 3 months pass neither come for setup box nor refund us our deposit. This is the worst the of the Aksh iptv optifiber service. We are doing followup only every time these people are taking our telephone number but out put is zero our telephone No. 22065597. Look into the matter at the earliest.

It is ironical to say that i booked IPTV of MTNL in collaboration with AKS TV on 21/05/2009 which was installed by Mr kapil (9868337240) on 04/06/09 vide no. DL 00011339 (STB with MAC ID A00663FC). It was activated after a few days but with fringing problem & waiting signal. The same was brought to the notice of Me Kapil & Mr Praveen who could not rectify the problem. Later on complaint no D/090615/55 was filed but AKS TV did not respond. Again second complaint was filed vide D/090708007 dated 10/07/09 but all in vain. A third complaint was filed vide complained no D/090818/28 which was attended by Mr Kapil on 22/08/09 who changed the STB- A00E4F12 VIDE NO DL 00015264 but changing STB could not check the fringing, which Mr Kapil assured to remove from exchange, which was not done. In the mean time Mr Manoj was contacted who asked to file the complain and assured to get rid off the problem. The fourth complaint was filed vide no /09017/20 dated 17/09/09 through Ms Santosh, who assured solution within 24 hours, which was attended one day after by Mr. Amit, who went without solution of the problem. A reminder no 15621 dated 22/09/09 9.00AM as mentioned by Ms Jyoti was filed, in response to that Mr Vinod came on 23/09/09, who could not remove the problem in the lack of coordination with attendants in the exchange. On 24/09/09 1.00 PM, Ms Jyoti Bhatia gave line to Ms Archana Arora who gave the complaint no reminder 15788 dated 24/09/09 and promised to rectify but it is unfortunate that till date the problem is as it was at the time of installation.
Now it is mentioned that believing & feeling good reputation of MTNL, I opted for IPTV but AKS TV has not only ruined the reputation of MTNL, it could not prove it self a good service provider. Being a sincere customer, I always deposited the bills well in time believing AKSTV will give proper service but they proved me wrong. Now I request you to disconnect the service immediately and refund all the bills which I have paid for nothing.

lots of problem we always faces like “Waiting Signal” while changing the channel….do needful..or comment
MTNL is a sister concern company of BSNL and comes under Central Govt… The customer base of MTNL is nearly 5.92 million. And from past few years the graph is going down even if the Indian Govt. is spending too much of huge amount to uplift the customer base, but still the graph is going down and the main reason is their “GREAT SERVICES”. The MTNL lineman don’t have enough idea to configure even a modem and to solve a single complaint they take nearly 1 month or more because the don’t have enough workforce and the coverage area is very big. And when you see the MTNL exchange you become shocked to see their exchange, made of HUWIA equipments, and when you see the AIRTEL exchange you will find Ericson equipments just because the cost of HUWAI equipments are nearly half then Ericson.
Basically they have two type of exchange one is for 256 Kbps and one for above 256Kbps, if you buy plan for above 256 then you may get good response because for that only they use Ericson exchange.
I raised my voice at Consumer Court and submitted a online complaint and found that I am not one who is facing the problems with MTNL http://www.consumercourt.in/broadband/1-mtnl-broadband.html here you can check the details of complaints.
I don’t know why the Govt. change the plan to get more customer and spend a huge amount in ads, the salary of lineman is nearly 15000/-, I think this is a total waste. Customers are very much frustrated from MTNL. If you visit the MTNL exchange you will find many customers shouting on the Area Manager. MY personal experience with MTNL was pathetic and now I switched to another services provider and now I am very much satisfied.
