I used it for a mega video file and it worked perfectly. You don't have to watch the whole video, but you do have to buffer the entire video to be able to copy the full file off the temporary file folder. For You tube, you can also use clipnabber or the Ask and Record Toolbar that comes with the link to the FLV player above. Both are very easy to use, as long as you have the http website address.
