DA increased by 6% (from 16 to 22%) for Central Government Employees

Indian Government today passed the order to 6% DA increase for the central gov employees. Now the DA is 22%  with effect from January 2009.

This increase in DA will cause 6000 Cr Rs  extra expenditure on Government Budget.

In this resession period where every other sector’s pay is continue to going down with more and more job loss, salary in Gov sector is on continuous rise.
