Airtel Brings Apple 3G iPhone to India at 8300 Rs (3G network mobile)

So, you want to use Apple 3G iPhone in  India. You can buy  iPhone 3G at a cost of only around  8300 Rs in India. From 11 july 2008 Apple iPhone 3G will be available in India through Airtel (Most probably). Bharti Airtel and Apple announced it on 9th June.

If you have any plan to purchase new mobile now, just wait for some time, because you will get  new generation iphone after 11th July with too low price.

The feature of 3G iphone is - its super data speed, the data speed of 3G mobile is similar to broadband internet speed of your computer. 3G services allow high-speed mobile broadband access at a speed of more than 386 kbps. Long battery hour use, GPS are the other facility.

Locate, navigate, and enhance your security with GPS-assisted position services. Send video and picture messages or participate in a live video conference — you don’t need to keep 9-to-5 hours, you can be at work or you can be at play. Wherever 3G goes, your office follows, to turn the old mobile paradigm on its head.

Even if airtel will delay to bring iphone in India, you will sure get 3G iphone at palika bazaar in Delhi. In Mumbai and other cities you will get it at  local small electronic shops (Grey market).

3G mobile network is available in some of the Indian cities. Other cities will get it soon.

    Hi, i am planning to get new 3Giphone from US.can i use the Phone without any issues if i get from abroad or should i wait till it is launched in india .can you please tell if there any problems in using US version.

    only in this web site i see the apple 3G iphone price is 8300 in india.At other site i see Rs 20000-28000 which is really impossible for me to buy a iphone in this price.i am totaly confused can you tell me the detail when 3G iphone launch in india what will be the exact price?

    @ganb4u- yes you can use here but it will not work till airlet start 3G network in India.
    @Priyanka Mandal - Yes this is true, but you have to wait for 3G network working in India. you will get currently in use (GSM supported)iphone
    Rs 20000-28000 (8GB)it will work with any sim card in india.

    its actually false information. Its 8300 if you convert the value of the dollar.. Airtel hasnt announced the rates to be Rs 8300. Not on their site, not on their press conference. The $199 price tag is what AT&T signed up with apple

    Apple never announced 3g iphone for india on July 11th.They might roll out to india after us launch within 3-6 months.

    Hi,

    Well I am in US. 199$ is the cost of I-phone with 2 year contract with AT&T. If you break this you have to pay 200$ more.So, this phone can not be avaolable in 8300 rupess for sure. Even if it would be they will have some monthly bill of 1500 rupess in india and 2 yr service contract and You can not use phone with other networks.

    @satish- The price is more or less correct. If you see price of any mobile in the US, in india, all models have same price. So the price of iphone 3G will also be same.

    If airtel will raise price, customer will go to vodafone. so, their is no point, airtel will sell it at higher price.

    @lakshay - Government is working to give approval to use 3G spectrum in india.

    There is no substitute for it.

    @giridhar well the cost of iphone 3g will be 20000 plus for 8gb version and prices of phones are same throught the woRld but for phones under contract is always lesser AT&T charges 25cents for a call in india its 1cent so indian operators cant subsidise the iphone ok

    iphone 3g cost may be at 8300 but the old iphones cost are above 20000……
    activation may require some cost….

    Apple iPhone 3G is selling there phones for 8GB for $199/US and 16GB for $299/US dollars all over 70 countries inculded (INDIA) on JULY 11, 2008.. and this price is right.. no need to worry about it.. But, I have an (1) question is it poosible for me to buy this Apple iPhone 3G from INDIA.. and will it work fine in CANADA.. cause canadian providers are selling this phone deal in a very higher price.. which is a rip-off..

    @Allen- 3g network is not here in india, so it will work only after 3g will be available in India.

    Hi,
    Apple already Launched 3G I phone in UK but everywhere this phone is out of stock !!! No boduy have any idea when it will be in stock only we can get from ebay which cost is very high around 500-800£.Now Airtel is planning to launch this phone in india on 22 august for 8000 rs.No idea how there are going to manage this ..and I am sure same situation will be happen in india also means they will launch but it will not be available in stock …letus seee and wait till 22 August.

    Don’t even dream about the 8K price given… Here’s a link with some what reasonable price range (Looks like a bit exaggerated but surely in this range 5-10K less)….

    I am surprised to see all of you shocked with the price. This is exactly what was expected and by
    the way iPhones features are revolutionary and the price is justified.iphone features is better than others,if i comare with Nokia 95 or blackberry because the oyher markets which are
    available with the same features or similar features were/are also priced very high. Eg Nokia E 90 @ >Rs.30000/- Nokia N 95 .Rs.25000, HTC Touch diamond @ Rs.27500/-, Samsung Omania @ Rs. 35 K plus, BlackBerry 8820 @32000.
